The following appears in Volume 71, Number 5 (May, 1998) of the Proceedings and Addresses of the American Philosophical Association.

Leslie Francis, Chair

This past year, the Committee responded by formal letter to two inquiries, and informally to several other requests for information. One inquiry is pending. Topics included issues of fairness in tenure and appointments processes.

The Committee will plan a symposium on tenure for the Pacific Division meetings in 1998.
