APA Statements on the Profession

Index

The Statements collected here have been developed by the APA over a number of years. For the most part, they have been prepared individually in response to some perceived need. It became clear, however, that Statements on a number of matters central to the profession would be useful. They range from making financial aid offers to graduate students to the character and support of research in philosophy, and from the meanings of "service" in our discipline to the relations of departments to unaffiliated philosophers. Dissemination of these Statements in the present form will help to make them more available and more useful than they would be among the many pages of the Proceedings and Addresses or in the fine print on the cover of Jobs for Philosophers.
