The Department of Philosophy at St. Francis Xavier University (http://www.stfx.ca/academic/philosophy/ ) invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, to begin 1 July 2007. Candidates should have a completed Ph.D. Area of specialization: mediaeval philosophy. Areas of competence at least two of: philosophy of human nature, continental philosophy, ethics (including applied ethics), introductory philosophy. The Department offers undergraduate courses to the honours level. Applicants are asked to supply a summary of teaching experience, a statement of teaching philosophy and interests, evaluations of teaching, and an outline of current and future research plans. The Department of Philosophy at the University of Guelph invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position to start July 1, 2007 at the rank of Assistant Professor. Area of specialization: Ethics; area of competency: open. Minimum qualifications are a Ph.D. in Philosophy and evidence of excellence in research and teaching. Faculty carry out their undergraduate duties at the campus to which they are appointed; graduate teaching and supervision typically take place on the St. George campus. The Department of Philosophy at the University of Toronto at Mississauga invites applications for a position as Associate or Full Professor in Metaphysics or Epistemology. The Department of Philosophy at the St. George (downtown) campus of the University of Toronto invites applications for the Senator Jerahmiel S. and Carole S. Grafstein Chair in Jewish Philosophy. AOS: Jewish Philosophy, preferably medieval or early modern. The Grafstein Chair will be a full-time tenured academic appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor, to begin July 1, 2007. The chairholder will be an internationally-recognized scholar in Jewish Philosophy, familiar with the Jewish textual canon and its original languages. The successful candidate will teach courses in the Philosophy Department at the graduate and undergraduate level, and contribute to the integration of Jewish philosophy into the undergraduate and graduate programs in Jewish Studies.
