Visiting Assistant Professor of Philosophy: Position Number 73313T; College of Art and Sciences, general funds, full-time, temporary, nine-month type appointment, to begin approximately August 2007 and end July 31, 2008, with possibility of reappointment pending position clearance and funding. Duties: Teach nine hours (three courses) per semester of undergraduate courses in aesthetics, epistemology OR history and philosophy of science, introduction to Western philosophy, reasoning, and an elective of the candidates choice. Advise students; serve on university committees; engage in scholarly endeavors which contribute to the mission of the University. Minimum Qualifications: At time of application Ph.D. in Philosophy from an accredited college or university. AOS: Open but Aesthetics preferred. AOC: courses mentioned above. Desirable Qualifications: Competence in environmental ethics and/or history of philosophy. Salary: $49,000 per year.
