Topics:
How
to Advertise a Vacancy
-
To
Place an ad in our JFP:
-
Please
read the five APA Board Statements (in the gray panel immediately
to the left) and ensure that your hiring practices, including your
ads, comply with both the spirit and the letter of these APA Board
Statements.
-
Please
use our Online Submission Form.
If you are unable to use the online submission form, contact Evonda
Acevedo by e-mail at: eacevedo@udel.edu
or by phone at (302) 831-2012.
-
The
application deadline in your ad must be at least two weeks after
the publication date of the issue of JFP in which the ad
appears. This is to ensure that all interested parties have enough
time to submit their application materials. If no deadline is listed,
the position must be held open for at least one month after the
publication date of JFP.
-
While
notices will be accepted stating that an employer has a special
interest in receiving applications from women or members of minority
groups, no notice will be accepted which suggests that others will
not also be considered in filling the vacancy.
-
Departments
are asked to treat inquiries and applications as confidential.
-
Vacancies
will not appear in subsequent issues of JFP unless specifically
requested.
- You
should expect to receive Confirmation of your request no later
than 48 hours following the copy deadline of each issue. If you do
not receive confirmation from our office you should contact Evonda
Acevedo (eacevedo@udel.edu)
to confirm our receipt of your submission and its appearance.
Pricing,
Billing, and Late Fees
Prices
are as follows:
The online
submission form is not a method of payment. After your ad is published,
our billing department will send an invoice to the billing address that
you provide in the online submission form.
For each issue that you submit an advertisement, you will receive a
separate invoice.
For
printed issues of the JFP, which appear in print and on the website
on the date of publication:
$100.00
for the first 100 words
$0.80 for
each word over 100
Examples:
A 110-word ad would cost $108.00; A 170-word ad would cost $156.00.
"Web
Only ads" - Ads appearing on the APA website between printed issues
of JFP will be charged as quoted above with an additional service
fee of $20.00. "Web Only ads" are billed in addition to ads
appearing in printed issues.
These rates
are per listing, per issue. Billing is done after each issue is published.
Job notices are re-run only when requested in writing.
Billing:
- Billing
is done by invoices sent out by our office after the publication of
the issue. At that time, you may indicate that you wish to pay with
a credit card by providing the information (card number, expiration
date, signature) and returning the invoice to our office.
- Final
words counts are based on the ad as it is actually published.
These may vary slightly from the estimated word count provided on
your email confirmation.
Late
Fees:
Ads Submitted
late (after the copy deadlines below) for a printed issue will be assessed
a late fee of $15.00. The issue goes to the printer as soon as
it is ready, so the final deadline for 'late ads' will depend on many
factors. If it is past the deadline, email Evonda Acevedo at eacevedo@udel.edu
to see if you can still get your ad in the next printed issue.
