CAP@OSU

The twenty-first century is off to an excellent start with the multiplication of opportunities for thinkers and doers to meet concerning computing and philosophy issues. Oregon State University hosted the first annual CAP@OSU, an expansion of the CAP@CMU meeting held each August at Carnegie Mellon University. The entire conference was web cast live and is available for viewing at http://osu.orst.edu/groups/cap. See the Event Handlers section of this issue for description of the conference activity.

Keep in mind that CAP@CMU is coming near. Stay tuned to http://caae.phil.cmu.edu/CAAE/CAP/ for details.

Thanks Robert Causey

For five years Robert Causey has kept readers of this newsletter at pace with the growing web of philosophy with his reviews of emerging e-journals and editing of website reviews. Robert's work has contributed much to the computing and philosophy community. He has set the standard for reviews of web sites and ejournals. A standard this publication will continue to uphold. Please join me in thanks to Robert for the valuable service he has provided. See Web Site Search in this issue for an index to the reviews Robert has provided as editor of that section.

Book Reviews

In the Fall 2001 issue we plan to add a book reviews section. Books that deal with any aspects of computing and philosophy are potentially relevant and we will value having your input. All reader of this newsletter are asked to consider recent books for review. In some cases, classic books in computing and philosophy are open to review as well. If you want to write a review for this newsletter, please send a short proposal to the editor. If you have colleagues who read books that are relevant to this newsletter, please encourage them to make a proposal. All inputs and recommendations regarding book reviews are welcome.
