Effective
July 1, 2001 The Philosophy and Medicine Committee will have a new
Chair and several new members. We wish to welcome Kenneth Kipnis
(University of Hawaii) as the new chair of the Committee. New members
include D. Micah Hester (Mercer University); Thomas May, Lainie
Friedman Ross (University of Chicago). Continuing members include
Mark Sheldon (Indiana University-Northwest), Glenn McGee (University
of Pennsylvania), and Rosamond Rhodes (Mt. Sinai School of Medicine).
During this coming year Mark Sheldon will be assisting Rosamond
Rhodes with the editorial responsibilities of this newsletter.
Departing
members of the committee include John Arras (University of Virginia);
Lisa Parker (University of Pittsburgh); Rosemarie Tong (University
of North Carolina-Charlotte), and Leonard Fleck (Michigan State
University). We wish to thank all of them for their generous service
to the Committee.
