Call for Papers:
The Journal for Peace and Justice Studies invites papers on the topic of Sustainability for a special issue. The deadline for submissions is October 30, 2008, with publication date in Spring 2009.
Since its founding in 1988, the Journal has been a leader in addressing contemporary issues and welcomes all submissions that promote peace, seek to build a just society, address the causes and consequences of all forms of oppression, identify local and global strategies for liberation, and engage in scholarly analysis and critique for social change. The Journal gladly considers interdisciplinary or multidisciplinary work and also publishes scholarly debates from within a variety of disciplines, including, but not limited to, philosophy, theology, social and political theory, and public policy. Discussions of abstract and conceptual issues underlying substantive problems, and empirical research aiming at their resolution, will also be considered.
Manuscripts and related correspondence should be sent electronically to the managing editor at jpjs@villanova.edu. Manuscript submissions should be accompanied by a cover letter containing all contact information and title of the essay. No identifying information may be in the submission itself.
All manuscripts submitted for publication must be prepared for blind review. Articles should be double-spaced throughout, with notes gathered at the end. An abstract of 100- to 150-words must be included with the submission. Authors are advised to use inclusive language throughout the manuscript, and to follow the MLA Style Sheet. Essays accepted for publication must be prepared in Microsoft Word (.doc) format.
